Honey BBQ is the most popular Stitts Chicken® flavor for a reason. Sweet, sticky, smoky, with just enough heat to keep it interesting. We take whole-muscle boneless skinless breasts, hand-trim them in the shop, and marinate them in our own Honey BBQ recipe — real honey, real spices, no injected “solution” to pump up the weight. This is the chicken that makes weeknight dinners feel like you actually tried.
How To Cook It
Grill, pan, air fryer, or oven. Internal temp 165°F.
Typical timing: Grill: 6–8 minutes per side | Oven 375°F: 20–25 minutes
- 01Pull the chicken from the fridge 15–20 minutes before cooking so it cooks more evenly.
- 02On the grill: medium heat, lid closed. The sugars in the marinade want steady heat, not screaming flame that burns the outside before the inside is done.
- 03Flip once. When it hits 165°F in the thickest part, pull it and rest 3–5 minutes.
- 04In the oven or air fryer it’s nearly foolproof — just don’t overcook it.
- 05The glaze is already built in. No need for extra sauce unless you really want it.
Best for: Weeknight family dinners, meal prep, anyone who wants chicken that actually tastes like something instead of “healthy protein.”
What’s In It
Short list. Real ingredients.
Ingredients
- · Whole-muscle boneless skinless chicken breasts
- · Real honey
- · House BBQ spice blend
- · No added water or fillers
Sourcing: Chicken from suppliers we trust. Hand-trimmed and marinated daily in the Bemidji shop. Same process we use for the retail meat case.
Whole muscle, no formed meat. Real marinade that clings instead of a watery solution that adds weight and dilutes flavor.
Why Butcher Shop Matters
Grocery store “marinated” chicken is usually pumped with salt water and coated with a thin layer of flavor dust. Stitts Chicken® is actual whole breasts, trimmed by hand, and soaked in real recipes we developed behind the counter. The difference in texture and flavor when it hits the grill is night and day.
FAQ
Quick answers.
Is the marinade very sweet?
It has a noticeable honey sweetness balanced by smoke and spice. Not candy-sweet. Most people, including kids, love it.
Can I cook this from frozen?
Technically yes, but it won’t be as good. Thaw overnight in the fridge for best results and even cooking.
How long does it last in the fridge after opening?
Use within 2–3 days for best quality. It freezes well if you want to portion it out.
