Your deer, your meat, your name on the package.
Blackduck sits in the middle of some of the best whitetail cover in Beltrami County, and the hunters who work it tend to be particular about what comes back from the processor. That suits us — we have been processing deer the individual way in this county since 1940.
Worth knowing: our processing facility is in Turtle River, not in town — so coming from Blackduck you actually reach us before you’d reach Bemidji. It’s a shorter trip than most Blackduck hunters assume.
Most processors batch during deer season: several hunters’ animals get run together and everybody takes home “a fair share.” It’s faster for the shop. It also means the meat on your table in March isn’t the deer you shot in November.
We don’t work that way. Every deer is processed individually. Your trim is your trim, your sausage is made from your animal, and your name goes on every package. It takes us longer. It’s the right way to do it, and it’s why hunters from Blackduck and across Beltrami County have hauled deer to Stittsworth for four generations.
